The name “Sovereign Kin” came through many years ago. I always knew I would create this album, and when I met producer, engineer and musician Vince Cimo in 2021, I knew it was time to start creating the album. Little did I know what I was in for.

In summer of 2022, after a year of recording and producing the album along with Vince, the muses gave me an unexpected directive: Sovereign Kin is not one album, it is four. Each one relates to an element. And you are beginning with Fire.

And with this, came a prayer. A SPARK, that ignited truth in my whole Being. To return to my Aliveness. To live in the radiance of Truth. And to let Love lead.

Within one month of this becoming clear, my whole life was changing. I was exiting my relationship of 10 years. I was moving off the land that had felt like my forever-home. I was leaving much of who I thought I was and what my life would look like. I was entering a new cycle of profound transformation, both external and internal.

Fire transforms. It changes. It burns away the old, and that can hurt. That can ache. That can challenge all the parts of ourselves.
But through it, we grow. And from the ashes, rises the Phoenix.

This album is a journey.
It is a call to our Sovereignty as souls in body, our Kinship as human family.
It is a spark, igniting us to our true Aliveness.
It is a prayer to come into deep relationship with the many aspects of fire within us and around us, personally and collectively.
It is a reminder that we are sovereign, in body and choice and consciousness, always, and that together we are stronger than any forces of fear or separation.
It is a sonic key to our collective awakening, a reminder to our innate power as creators.

We are courageous hearts, alive and leading
We are ready for our liberation from fear and separation.
We are leaders of the next generations. Creators of infinite possibility and beauty, a human family remembering we are not separate, always and forever connected to the web of existence.

We are SOVEREIGN KIN.

For this release, Ayla has created a special Sovereign Kin portal, where you can dive into your living story within the story, and your relationship with the element of Fire in its many forms. As the Story unfolds, with each album, so too will the Portal expand.
